Teraleptil.

Ice Warrior head.

1/1 scale Latex Sea Devil head.  The Sea Devil head was completely painted with dark green spray paint straight from the can, then a fine coat of matt black was sprayed into the recessed area of the head, a lighter green was used to apply highlights, again applied straight from the can.  The sandy tan colour was a mix of red car primer and yellow decanted into a small jar and mixed to suit,  this was to be applied by airbrush.  The face area of the head was given a coat of this tan mix, then a darker mix was applied around the eyes and mouth to add depth to the creases and add shading.  Another coat of tan was applied to cover some of the darker over sprayed area, and a lighter mix of tan was applied as a highlight. The eyes were brush painted with white acrylic, the black pupils were added, which were then given a wash of silver, a wash of pink was applied to give the corner of the eyes a bloodshot look.

1/1 scale Teraleptil latex masks.

The first mask was painted freehand by Airbrush using thinned acrylic based car spray paint, which was decanted into small jars and mixed as and when needed.

The second mask was painted pretty much as the as the fist one was, but had additional dry brushing and blending added to bring out more surface detail. The eyes were painted differently as I had a better reference source for this one.

Reference used was from the Dr Who Magazine 'The Visitation' issue, The Visitation VHS Video cassette and the odd convention photograph.

1/1 scale fibre glass head.  The dark green background colour for the Ice Warrior head had to be mixed by spraying paint from the cans into a smaller jar, so that the paint could be mixed into the correct colour and then thinned enough for it to be applied by Air brush.  Several lighter green layers were then dry brushed on.

R

Cybermen heads.

The Cyberman heads are all to 1/1 scale and are made from Fibre Glass, they are based on the 'Tomb of the Cybermen',  'Invasion of the Cybermen',  'Revenge of the Cybermen' & 'Earthshock' variant suits. Initially I was given the job of altering the head of the 'Tomb' Cyberman to make it more accurate with the Cyber heads that were featured in that particular episode.  This involved widening the mouth and drilling the air vent holes into the neck.   The surface of the head was sanded with fine grit wet & dry paper to remove runs from the original paint finish, then a coat of grey primer was applied to the head.  When the primer was fully dry, any small holes or cracks etc in the surface were filled using fine surface filler.  This was then sanded down again with very fine grit wet and dry paper to give the head a nice smooth finish, and given another light coat of primer.  The head was then completely repainted with two coats of silver spray paint, and given a couple of coats of lacquer to give it a lustrous finish.  This led to the refurbishing other Cybermen heads.  The 'Invasion' Cyberman head was simply a clean up and re paint job.  The head was sanded down with very fine grit wet & dry paper and primed and filled where necessary and then repainted with two coats of silver spray paint.  It was then polished quite heavily with a soft cloth, and given a couple of coats of lacquer to finish it off.   The Revenge Cyber Leader was prepared in exactly the same way as for the other Cybermen heads.   But was given three light coats of satin black, when the black was dry,  the face plate was masked off and sprayed silver, then given a coat of lacquer to finish it. The Earthshock Cyber leader head was prepared and finished in exactly the same as for the other Cyber heads.  The only difference being that the silver bands on the black pipes had a mask applied before the black was applied by spray.

Picture 1 and 2 show the Cyber Head with the modifications.  Picture 3 show's the completely finished head with chrome tape added around the eyes and mouth.  Picture 4 shows the finished 'Invasion' head.  Picture 5 shows the finished Revenge Cyber Leader head.  Picture 6 shows the finished Earthshock Cyber Leader head.
