| I just recently received this e-mail from Martin Shubrook and I thought that I would post the news here. 'There was a posting on the UFO site on the 9th Feb regarding the up-coming book by Alan Shubrook. (See attached posting), (Alan worked at Century 21 in the special effects department) I thought you might be interested in this info too. The book is being published by our own company and is being written and edited as we speak. The book will feature many unpublished photographs and document Alan's time in the special effects department at the studio, including; how he got the job, meeting Derek Meddings for the first time, humourous stories and tricks of the trade. The stories cover, Thunderbirds, Capatin Scarlet, Joe 90, UFO and more... We plan a full launch into stores in early 2008. However, the book will be available online from October. Each copy purchased online from our first print-run will be personally numbered and signed by Alan to the recipient. It will also include a 10x8inch rare photograph. There will be a specific website set-up closer to the October launch. In the meantime, you can register your interest in the book and be kept up to date with developments by emailing: publishing@shubrookbros.com This book is becoming highly anticipated amongst those who heard Alan's convention speech last year. | Dateline Saturday 28th October 2006 at a secret location somewhere in Kent, nine dedicated Eagle enthusiasts meet up for the day with a selection of models from Space 1999. Actually this was just an informal gathering of friends who could be described as 'sad' and who frequent the Eagle Transporter forum and also meet up on occasion at Fanderson conventions. However the day and night did include some of the original studio miniatures including Eagles 1 & 2, the MK1 Laser Tank, the Voyager Probe and the Swift to name buta few, there were lots of reproduction Eagles and other models in various scales, in total there were four 44 inch Eagles!!
