Large Second Age Elven ruined building, Extension 1, Garden.

Introduction…

As I had some bits and pieces left over from the large ruined model in the previous article, I decided to put the modular tile theory to the test.

I would construct a smaller garden section to add to the ruins, using a piece of the MDF left over from the large sheet that I had cut up.  This section would comprise of an Arboretum, or garden section, that would fit in nicely with the ruin.

Stage 1...

I made a largish half moon shape stone seat from the left over 2mm Plasticard, which was positioned in the centre of the board, I also used two fallen pillars and bases I had left over, and placed one to either side of the seat.  The addition of a few trees would finish the overall effect.

I pinned the trees in place to the base board to give them extra strength, drill out the base of the trees and a corresponding hole in the MDF.  Now take a small length of brass rod, having first cut the rod to the right length, then glue the rod into the base board using Two Pack Epoxy.  Leave to set and then glue the trees onto the rods in the base board, again using Two Pack epoxy.

Follow the same steps for the painting and weathering as in the previous ruined building article, all the stages are virtually the same…
