The new much awaited Gerry Anderson CGI Captain Scarlet TV series has finally hit screens in the UK on Saturday mornings.  The series looks to be excellent. only spoilt by the time slot it has in the Saturday morning CITV children's show Ministry of Mayhem.  Although the good news is that later in the year a DVD box set of the series is on the cards.  In the meantime if you would like more information, news and a review of what we have seen so far, click on one of the Spectrum Logo links.

While I was in the process of updating the pages on this web site, I have taken the liberty of adding some new model pictures in the Galleries, and also a few more links to new web sites.   The new pictures are of Dr Who and UFO subjects, please check the New Additions page for more information, a link to the page is located at the tip of this page.

The links are to new companies who are releasing a variety of miniature ranges in 18mm and 28mm scales.  The new companies are Black Hat Miniatures, The Assault Group and Shadowforge Miniatures.  All are well worth a visit if you are into war games miniatures.

02/10/04.
Due to recent events, I have decided that many of the web pages need to be completely redesigned.  This should hopefully make the site less of a confusing place to visit and make navigation easier.  Please bear with us while I update the pages, as this will take some time to finish.  Thanks in advance.
27/09/04.
First things first, apologies to anyone concerned if you have not received a reply to an e-mail query over the last several weeks or so.  I have had major problems with 'Spam' mail and virus infected mail, so much so that I was getting anywhere from 100 to 250 of the things per day, (and I mean everyday), unfortunately I may have inadvertently deleted some genuine mail by mistake.  I can only apologize for this, but seeing the amount of 'junk' mail I was getting on a daily basis, it was not a surprise that some would eventually go missing, I am still plagued by the stuff, fortunately not to a great a degree that I was a while ago.  Also I have not had the opportunity or time to spend updating the web pages recently, this is due to many reasons, just say that real life got in the way a quite a bit for a good chunk of this year.  I do have a little more time to spend now making alterations and adding stuff to the pages, but not as much time as I would have liked, but that's just the way it is.

Secondly and more importantly, due to some recent rather unsettling events, I need to make anyone reading this aware of a few important facts regarding this web site.

1...The Model Galleries on this web site are not to be treated as a catalogue, (on-line or otherwise), or inventory of current stock in anyway.

2...The Model Galleries are only to be treated as an on-line gallery of models that we have built, nothing more.

3...The Models, Figures and Dioramas shown in the galleries are not for sale.

4...The 'Model Galleries' feature models, figures and dioramas that we have built over the last ten or more years using commercially available models and kits purchased legitimately from various trading outlets and retailers.

5...The only item's that are listed for sale are to be found on the 'Trading Post' pages.  All of the item's listed on those pages are out of my own personal collection and are surplus to requirements, and are in mint condition unless stated otherwise..

6...We are not currently a business on-line or otherwise,  nor do we have premises to trade from, this unfortunately means that we are unable to accept credit card payments for any goods that are listed for sale on the 'Trading Post' pages.

I have added quite a few new links to some very good web sites on the Links page.  Included in these are some more Middle Earth web sites, Sci-Fi and Fantasy model and Gaming sites, model hints and tips and much more.  Please take the time to visit the new sites, there is plenty to keep you occupied for hours on end.
04/06/04.
I have added some new pictures of my 'Lord of the Rings' miniatures to the Miniature Galleries sections.  5 new LOTR model articles have also been uploaded, as well as a few new Captain Scarlet model pictures.  The  LOTR pages and the other model  pages will have more new pictures added to them frequently throughout 2004.

In addition I will also be updating the Guest Gallery pages to include even more pictures.  I had intended to do this long before now, unfortunately I had been experiencing problems with my FTP software, which hopefully are now fully resolved.

I have modified and updated many of the Trading post pages.  The 9 page collectable section has been replaced a with more streamlined 3 page version which should be easier to use.  I will be adding more sales item's to these pages over the coming weeks and into the New Year.   I have also modified and updated several pages on the website.  This will be an ongoing process over the coming weeks.
03/12/03.
I'm back, well I have not exactly been away as such, my recent  health problems have continued to cause me some problems, and the web site was one of the casualties.  This is the first update to this site since the middle of July!!! see last entry.  I have added loads of new links on the Links page.  There are also a few new pictures of Lord of the Rings miniatures.  There are loads of LOTR miniature pictures to come and the Guest Gallery page will be expanded shortly, so as they say watch this space.
19/07/03.
New pages have been added in the Miniatures Gallery section.  These include The Lord of the Rings miniatures pages and model article pages.  New content will added to these pages over the next several weeks.  Keep checking out the What's New pages for more information on new postings.
07/07/03.
I have recently become a member of The Last Alliance web site.  The TLA is dedicated to the Tabletop War Games set in The Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth.  If you are interested at all in Middle Earth, Lord of the Rings, Miniatures or Tabletop gaming, then the TLA is well worth the time to visit.  There are on-line forums, Miniatures, Scenery and other galleries, modeling articles, and a Chat Room is now up and running.  Take the time to visit, you will not be disappointed.

I have added loads of new links to some very interesting and useful web sites on the Links page in several different categories.  Check them out as there is bound to be something to interest and please you.

I have altered the Navigation Bar on the Main Menu Page, mainly to speed up the loading of this page. I had previously used Java 'Hover' buttons, these have now been replaced with simple text links.  I have also removed all of the Java Nav Bars from every page on the site.  I have done this in response to a number of people e-mailing me to say that either the buttons would simply not load, or they were taking an age to load on their machines.  So I have gone back to a simpler Text Link Nav Bar system, which hopefully should speed up the load time of the pages no end.

If you do find any problems or broken links on any of the pages, please let me know.

Not much news of late PT 2.
I was just about recovered from all of the problems I had recently been having, and low and behold on the Bank Holiday Monday of the Easter break, I go and break my ankle in a stupid domestic accident.  Well this year just keeps on getting better and better!!!!.

Again apologies to anyone who has not had a response from me as of yet, I will get around to it, just as soon as I am able to.

Not much news of late
I have not done much work on the web site over the last few month's,  this was due in part to problems with my health and my PC.  I have a long standing back problem which has been causing me problems again over the New Year period.

I was just getting over the bout with my back, when my PC decided to throw a fit,  the resulting fire in my tower virtually destroyed every card and component in there, it has taken me weeks to recover from this.  I lost most of the information stored on my hard drive, but fortunately not everything was lost, but just enough to cause me severe problems.

I was just getting back to normal after the problem with my PC, when I ended up contracting a viral chest infection, which ended up taking weeks to get rid of, not much of a year so far!!!

I am trying to play catch up, with the e-mails, uploading of files etc etc.  Sincere apologies to anyone who has not had a response from me to their e-mails.

SF Premium Vehicle Set from Konami.
Konami from Japan have  released a range of 'Trading Toys' available for retail sale only in Japan.  The SF Premium Vehicle set set is due for release in late March 2003.

There are only three pieces in this set, Fireball XL5, Rescue Eagle and SID.  The models come in a box which contains 6 packs per box, with a SID and Fireball XL5 in 3 packs and a SID and Rescue Eagle in the other three packs.

SF Super Vehicle Set from Konami.
Konami from Japan have  released a range of 'Trading Toys' available for retail sale only in Japan.  The SF Super Vehicle set set is due for release in March 2003.  The set includes:- Stingray and Mechanical Fish, Eagle Transporter and Mk9 Hawk, Macs car and the U59 Wild Cat from Joe 90, and Supercar.

There are seven pieces in each set,  with the Supercar model being the 'Rare' piece.  With only one Supercar  per 4 boxes  the Supercar model will no doubt be expensive to collect, as will a complete full set.   The models come in a box which contains 10 assorted pieces per box.  The currently available sets include Volume 1 & 2 from Thunderbirds,  a UFO set, and a recently released Captain Scarlet set.

Apparently Konami are set to release more sets this year which feature Gerry Anderson related subjects.  A new set with SID from UFO, a Rescue Eagle and Fireball XL5 is expected to be released next

A box of the Trading Toys costs 3000 Yen in Japan, (approx £16.00), but the cost over here will be considerably more due to the cost of shipping, import duty and VAT that has to be added to each box.

Thunderbird, UFO and Captain Scarlet Trading Toy sets from Japan.
Konami from Japan have released a range of 'Trading Toys' available for retail sale only in Japan.  There are currently three sets available, with a forth set due for release in Jan 2003.   There are seven pieces in each set, six different vehicles and a figure, the figure being the 'Rare' piece, with approx only one figure per 4 boxes, so these figures will no doubt be expensive to collect, as will a complete full set.   The models come in a box which contains 10 assorted pieces per box.  The currently available sets include Volume 1 & 2 from Thunderbirds, and a UFO set, with a Captain Scarlet set due to be released next.  Apparently Konami are set to release more sets next year which feature Gerry Anderson related subjects.  A box of ten Trading Toys costs 3000 Yen in Japan, (approx £16.00), but the cost over here will be considerably more due to the cost of shipping, import duty and VAT that has to be added to each box.

There are pictures of the Thunderbirds vol 2 and UFO set on Comet Miniatures stand on the 'Convention & Show' pages.

IPMS & Memorabilia 2002.
I have added a selection of pictures to the 'Convention & Show' pages.  The pictures are from the IPMS Scale Model World held at Telford on the 9-10th November 2002, and the Memorabilia show at the NEC in Birmingham on the 16-17th November 2002.  Featured are pictures of dealer tables, movie props and Celebrities that were in attendance.
Eagle Transporter restoration.
I have added a link to the web site of Small Art Works which is located on the Links Page in the Space 1999 section, which features an article by David Sisson's on the restoration project on the original 44" studio Eagle prop he acquired earlier this year.  There are 8 pages and about 60 pictures which show close up details of the stripped down model.  This article is  not to be missed if you are into Space 1999, Eagle Transporter Models or Sci-Fi of any kind.
Digital Photography.
I have recently dipped my toes into the world of Digital Photography, its a simple and easy job to photograph and then modify the pictures ready for uploading straight the the web pages.

I like to have glossy prints of the models etc to put into the album for show's and conventions etc.  So with this in mind I have added a new section on the links page which will cater for digital film processing.  There are 3 companies listed at the moment, all of which offer prints in various formats and sizes.  The prices are competitive and not dissimilar to  to normal 35mm processing costs.   I will add further links when I get the chance to look deeper into this field

Gallery Page added.
A new Gallery page has been added to our web pages featuring photograph's of models etc from other people.  The Gallery page has been set up because of the growing number of pictures that we had been receiving via E-mail.  Some of the photograph's were of our own  models and dioramas on our stall at conventions, that we found on the net.   Others feature pictures of our models that had been sold, then had the pictures forwarded to us.   We will feature new pictures on the Gallery page as and when they appear.

Thunderbird Dolls.
I recently received an e-mail from a Japanese sculptor and Thunderbirds fan by the name of Kenji Sakamoto.  Kenji in his own words is 'a Thunderbirds freak and professional sculptor', and has produced some very nice dolls based on Thunderbirds characters, as well as other Gerry Anderson related vehicles.  His Scott Tracy doll is featured as part of a Thunderbirds exhibition in Tokyo from 11th December until February 2002.  Kenji's Scott Tracy Doll is licensed in Japan and is limited to 75 pieces.  I have added a link to Kenji's web site on the links page, in the Gerry Anderson 'Thunderbirds' section.

Visit Kenji's web pages at the following address http://www.ton-ya.com/7/thunderbird1.htm  or to see more of the Scott Tracy doll and Kenji's new work visit  http://users.goo.ne.jp/starlex-by-nis   Please note, you may need to download the 'Japanese Text Display Support' software to read any text, but it does not stop you enjoying the pictures.
